2017 is set to become another fabulous year for sport at The Forest. We are delighted to be awarded the Wokingham Borough Sports Award for Best Senior School.

2016-17 saw many sporting achievements for Forest students.

Athletics:

Reading Schools - U16 and U14 winners.

ESAA Track and Field Cup - Inter Boys (Y9&10) winners, and Junior Boys B Final winners.

Wokingham Borough Champions  - Year 8 and 10 winners.

Four Forest boys competed in the English Schools Championships as part of the Berkshire County team. As a result Josh Zeller became the English Schools Champion for Inter boygs 100m Hurdles.

Cricket: Y7, 8 & 9 were winners in their Reading School Leagues; Year 7,8 and 9 all won the Reading Schools Cricket Finals.

 

Football:

East Berks Cup – Y8, 9,10 and 11 were winners.

National Cup Year 8 lost in ¼ final.

Rugby:

Year 7s place 3rd in the Wokingham Floodlight Tournament. 

Year 8 were unbeaten all year and in Berkshire Tournament, (there were no cups awarded).

Y9 won Berkshire Cup. The Y9 squad were invited to a 'Parade of Champions' during half time at a London Irish match. 

Y10 and 1st XV reached semi-finals of Berkshire Cup.

 

House Events:

We run a full programme of House Events including: Rugby, Football, X-Country, Athletics and Swimming

 

Forest ‘Leaders’: Year 9 and 10 pupils trained, then refereed and motivated other youngsters, supporting UK sport organisations with competitions across Berkshire.

 

Primary School Events: The Forest ran 12 events for primary schools, including mini-football tournaments, dance and multi-skills/athletics events.

 A number of our talented students took part in sports at county, regional, Academy and national levels.

Historical Sporting Success at The Forest

 

2015-16 Athletics: Both U14s and U16s reached the regional finals in the English Schools’ Track and Field Cup. The Forest Junior and Senior track and field teams excelled in the Reading Schools Athletic League.

2014-15 Athletics: Both U14s and U16s reached the regional finals in the English Schools’ Track and Field Cup. The Forest Junior and Senior track and field teams won the Reading Schools’ Athletics Cup. Years 8 and 10 won Wokingham Borough Sports Finals, Years 7 and 9 finished second.

2013 14 Athletics: U14s alongside U16s reached the regional final in the English Schools National Cup. U14s were placed 3rd. The Junior and Senior track and field teams won the Reading Schools' Athletics Cup.

2015-16 Cricket: Years 7 and 8 were winners in the Reading Schools League. The First XI won the Reading Bluecoat School T20 Shield.

2014-15 Cricket: Years 7 and 8 are contesting the Reading Schools Cup Finals; Years 9 and10 won their Reading Schools Cup Finals. The 1st XI were runners up in the Reading Bluecoat School T20 tournament, and the Caterham School T20 Tournament.

2013-14 Cricket: Forest Year 7s won the Reading Schools U12 Cup.

2015-16 Football: Both the Year 8  and 11 teams won the Berkshire Cup, and the First XI, Year 8 and Year 9 won the East Berkshire Cup.

2014-15 Football: The First XI retained the Thames Valley League Championship undefeated, and reached both the County Cup and East Berkshire Cup finals. The Year 11 and year 10 teams were both crowned East Berkshire Cup Champions.  The Year 7, 8 and 9 teams all reached the semi-finals of their County Cup competitions.

2013-14 Football: U15s won the East Berkshire Cup. Years 7,8,10 and 11 all reached the East Berkshire Semi Finals. Year 7 and 11 reached County Cup Semi Finals.

2015- 16 Rugby: U12s won the Berkshire Floodlit League, and were runners up in the County Cup.

2014 - 15 Rugby: U12s won the Berkshire Floodlit League, and were runners up in the County Cup. U14s reached the County Cup quarter final, U15s won the County Cup and U18s lost in the final.

2013-14 Rugby: Year 7 won the Wokingham Floodlit League. U12s were County Plate Winners. Year 8s were Semi Finalists in the County Cup.
