Getting to grips with politics!

It was delightful to see students from Year’s 10 and 11 attend and engage in the Youth Politics Evening at Wokingham Borough Council Offices on Thursday 27th March. They joined other students in listening to local councillors and sitting MP’s respond to questions put forward by the boroughs young people in the Council Chamber.
Adhikesh, Chris and Georgii displayed great maturity, listening to and engaging with different issues raised by the youth council. Their active participation and questioning of the MP’s present demonstrated their knowledge and understanding of the society in which we all live and was undoubtedly well informed through their commendable study of Citizenship at GCSE. This will only be furthered by attending such an event.
The voice of the student population across Wokingham Borough Council is an important one, recognised by those Councillor’s and MP’s in attendance this evening, encouraging the students to engage with politics and further their understanding of the demands and rewards of holding these elected positions. As always their attitude was exemplary, young politicians in the making.
